EMBUDHU VILLAGE MALDIVES

It happens rarely - arriving somewhere new and feeling instantly at home. At Embudu Village Resort, we make it happen everyday. Whether you’re joining us for the first time, or you’re returning for your twentieth visit, we know you’ll fit right in. Kick off your shoes at the jetty, switch off your phone and put your feet up.
There is no rush here, no airs or graces. No, this is a place for lingering over sunsets, staying in the ocean until dark, leaving the salt in your hair and the sand between your toes. Here, life is slow and the living is easy.
DINNING
At our buffet-style restaurant, where the theme changes every night, there’s plenty to tempt all palates. From our home-cooked pastries to our authentic curries, our dishes guarantee to get your mouth watering.
Our approach is simple enough. We buy quality, local and regional ingredients, especially we are very cautious in getting fresh fish and other seafood from the best sources. We let our award winning chefs do the rest.
For those who want something extra special, our à la carte lobster and steak dinners can be enjoyed in the flower garden or at the water’s edge with the sand between your toes. Don’t forget to join us for a cocktail in the bar while you enjoy a beautiful sunset.
ISLAND EXCURSIONS
Local life in the Maldives is slow and revolves around the good things in life: family, food and fishing. Take a trip to an island village, immerse yourself in a culture where little has changed since early settlement and let our guides escort you through a slice of history.
If you fancy experiencing city life for the afternoon, why not pop over to Male’ for a spot of souvenir shopping and sightseeing.
Marvel at the Arabesque architecture of the Islamic Centre, discover the ancient art of Maldivian stonemasonry at the Friday Mosque and browse the colourful souvenir shops as you wander the streets of our exhilarating capital.
WATER SPORTS
Flex your muscles with a spot of kayaking and if the wind picks up, why not brush up on your windsurfing skills? There’s Stand Up Paddle boarding for those who love to be on the water – you might even spot a stingray or two, as you glide over the lagoon. Bliss!
SNORKELLING
Our house reef is brimming with life, but that shouldn’t stop you from exploring the ocean further afield. Diverland offers daily snorkelling excursions to the best spots in the region and their experienced guides will make sure you’re in safe hands.
FISHING
Whether it’s deep sea trawling or the traditional Maldivian hook and line method, fishing is an essential element of local life and a must-try when in the country. Our crew members learnt to fish almost as soon as they could walk, so there’s no-one better to teach you how to secure a catch!
DIVE
Situated a boat ride away from some of the country’s most exciting dive sites, Embudu has it all! From turtles to manta rays and dozens of sharks; be prepared to tick a few things of your scuba bucket list!
Apart from the captivating marine life, the experienced, multi-lingual team at Diverland, our dive center, you’ll be diving and learning with the best.
Closer to home, our house reef is just a short swim from the shore, meaning that by purchasing an Unlimited Diving Pass you can spend as much time below the surface as your dive computer will allow! Once purchased, simply pay a small supplement for a boat dive when you feel like going further afield.

LOCATION

Paradise is easier to find than you might think. When you arrive at Velana International Airport, an Embudu team member will be waiting to greet you and to guide you to your transfer vessel.
The journey will take 20 minutes across the ocean and you’ll be standing on our arrival jetty throwing off your shoes.
